Since it’s beginning in 1993, Wisconsin/Northern Michigan Youth Alive has been a faith-based organization. Over the past two-plus decades we have developed a very strong school assembly program that public school educators are comfortable with. Our programs have reached hundreds of thousands of students with a simple message: You can choose to live the best life. While our methods have changed over the years to stay relevant to the current student generation, our heart has not. We firmly believe every student matters.

Youth Alive exists to partner with two organizations in every community: public schools and churches. Our aim is to empower every 6th-12th grade student to live the best life possible. Our dream is to reach every middle school and high school in Wisconsin and Northern Michigan.

Youth Alive belongs to a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Youth Alive Director

My name is Dan Herod and I have been working with 6th-12th grade students since 2000. I believe every student matters. My family and I currently reside in Amherst, Wisconsin. When I’m not directing Youth Alive, you will find me spending time with my family, out riding my road bike, serving on the local volunteer fire department, and doing the things that bring me life.

I consider my personal faith in Jesus Christ to be a “game changer.” Without it, I know I would be a very different person in a very different place. I owe everything I have to the One who gave everything for me.

Thank you for making the time to learn a little about me. I hope and pray that you experience the best life possible.

Because Every Student Matters,

Dan Herod
