These opportunities below are a number of ways you could help out around our church. If you are skilled in any of these ways and feel led to serve feel free to contact us.
Skilled Servant
You can reach out by volunteering to be a Skilled Servant.
What is a Skilled Servant?
Skilled Servants are individuals that posses a specific talent that can be utilized for the church. A great example would be a Handyman, Custodian, Tradesman and so on. We are looking for individuals who can fill these needs on a volunteer basis. Every building and its grounds need constant maintenance. In the spirit of doing all things, "as unto God," we need to be good stewards of the things God has blessed us with. Here are a few areas of need where a Skilled Servant can serve.
Grounds - These individuals are responsible for mowing the grass, trimming bushes and trees and various landscaping projects that include weeding, mulching and planting.
Maintenance - These individuals are responsible for small repairs and building projects, painting and remodeling. A "Handyman" type individual would fill this role very effectively.
Custodian - These individuals are responsible for the interior cleaning, sanitizing and visual maintenance of the church campus. They will also have larger scale cleaning projects on occasion that include waxing and sealing floors, spring cleaning and winterizing buildings.
Tradesman - These individuals would be responsible for large scale projects the church needs to engage in to maintain or better it's facilities. These projects would include large remodels, gutting, renovating, roofing, carpentry, electrical, plumbing and other skilled labor.
Usher and Greeter
You could reach out and serve by being an Usher or a Greeter.
What is an Usher?
An Usher is responsible for several things at Changing Lives. They provide direction for visitors, seat individuals who need assistance, collect the offering, serve communion and provide security to various areas of the church campus. As an usher there are many ways you can serve our church on Sunday Morning and at special events.
What is a Greeter?
A Greeter is responsible for making people, especially guests feel welcome at Changing Lives. These individuals set the "tone" of the morning with energy and compassion. When people visit a church they are looking for acceptance before anything else. If you walked into a church and no one said a word to you, would you come back? Probably not. Our Greeters fulfill this need by engaging with our guests and helping them engage with the body of Christ.
Worship & Tech Team
What can you do in tech?
During our services we have a team that handles the soundboard, our overhead media, our live production, as well as recording our sermons for our churches podcast. We could always use extra hands in that area. If interested in helping, let us know!
What can you do in worship?
Are you gifted in playing instruments or singing? We might be able to have you help out in our worship team. Feel free to contact us to talk to our worship team!
